BLC Bank Honors Entrepreneurship and showcases its 2013 achievements at the Brilliant Lebanese Awards.
Ending a challenging and fruitful year, BLC Bank once again, reaffirmed its position as a strong advocate for Lebanese SMEs and a pioneer in innovative banking services at the Brilliant Lebanese Awards, a Gala Dinner that took place in Biel on November 20, in the presence of the Bank’s Chairman General Manager, Mr. Maurice Sehnaoui, BLC Bank’s management, VIP clients, and a number of renowned figures and friends. Inaugurating the event, Mr. Sehnaoui proceeded by proclaiming the bank’s achievements for 2013 that fall within the pillars of the Bank: the WE Initiative – a holistic program dedicated to the economic empowerment of women, the SME Toolkit, a platform that provides SMEs with solutions and necessary tools and schemes to improve businesses, expand their capacities and nurture their growth, and the BLC Cloud, an all-inclusive approach to self-service banking, providing its users with full internet banking and more freedom at less charges. Mr. Sehnaoui also unveiled BLC Bank’s latest innovation which will be launched soon in the Lebanese market: HEY PAY, a new payment revolution that will allow customers to pay anytime and anywhere
in seconds through a free mobile app downloaded on their smart phones. HEY PAY is simple to use, safe and fast and allows not only payments, but also money transfers and a palette of options unique to the app and BLC Bank. Hosting the famous local artist Nancy Ajram, the evening was crowned with the announcement of the winners for the Lebanese Brilliant Awards: The Business of the Year award went to Nehman Hachem – Hintrag SARL, whereas Helene Nasr – Sciteck SARL won The Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award. The winners received a $30,000 cash prize each, and a third award, the People’s Choice was granted to Hassan Chahine – New Media Tourism SCS who received the highest number of votes during the Facebook Competition. The night also featured the launch of the 2014 edition of the Lebanese Brilliant Awards competition, inviting people to start applying through BLC Bank’s websites. It is worth mentioning that both competitions were open to the public, and not limited to BLC Bank’s clients only. Applicants needed to meet selection criteria pre-determined by the Bank in different categories such as Creativity, Financial Performance, Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility, and were evaluated by a select professional Jury.
